Lake Winnipesaukee Adventure Wedding
It’s not often I take a larger wedding on, but when the couple is just right and the vision is all about time outside then how could I say no? Cortney & Ryan planned to have all 120 of their guests hike an easy 1/2 mile trail to their wedding ceremony in May in New Hampshire. It was a cooler day in the 50s which was just right for the nature walk at Geneva Point Center.
After managing to keep out of each other’s site all morning Cortney walked down the beach barefoot to Ryan with her dad. The ceremony was full of laughs, reminiscing about past adventures, and sweet vows for their future. We stayed at Geneva Point Center while the guests continued onto the reception venue to wander around and take their portraits in the forest. If you’re having your wedding portraits taken during the middle of the day doing the majority of your portraits in the forest or somewhere with filtered lighting if it is sunny out is a big tip! This will yield way better results at the end! Harsh lighting can be very difficult for many photographers to work in as it does not always compliment your skin tone and can appear blown out. Cortney and Ryan listened to all of my tips and trusted my expertise which only benefitted them in the end.
The rest of their day was a fairly normal looking wedding until the band fired up the dance floor. I was expecting a fairly normal set list, but what we got was a full on 2000’s emo hour. The dance floor was probably the most fun I have ever had photographing a wedding.
