Cathedral Ledge Elopement
Katie & Michael crave adventure in their lives like no one else, but for their elopement it was also important to have their families present. So how do you get married in New Hampshire with a gorgeous mountain backdrop and important members of the family who are not quite as able bodied? The best solution? A Cathedral Ledge permit.
Cathedral Ledge has a road you can drive directly to the top on and an easy paved walking path to the most beautiful overlook which is close to the bustling town of North Conway. It was an easy choice for Katie and Michael as they planned their day, and it allowed us time to explore other hikes close by.
The day was full of special touches and moments. Katie poured a glass of beer for her father who passed away in their reception, and did a first look outside of their bed and breakfast with her mom. Her mother’s proud face nearly brought me to tears prior to leaving for their ceremony.
After their vows we set off on our adventure, first to a nearby waterfall which is always easily accessible. Then, we started on a trail to an overlook, however, the weather had different plans. The skies opened and it down poured. Instead of being upset about the rain, Katie and Michael fully embraced it like two born and bred New Englanders should. Embracing the weather is part of life in New Hampshire, and your elopement day is never immune from the rain. It has its own special beauty.
